This is how the cookie crumbles

T'was a good few days by myself at my grandparent's place. I got some homework done for a change. I dropped by the school today, printed off more work. I'm now on Chapter 7 of 10, which is extremely good. I helped my Uncle clean out his yard of tree branches etc yesterday. 3 hours of work and $30 later we were done. Now I've got the cash to buy my concert ticket for the Sum41 concert May 6, I'll be there.

I was fairly active playing Diablo 2 for quite a few days last week. I haven't played it for about 4 nights, now. Dransik, well that's kind of "old news", seeing how I haven't played that for longer. I tried Ghost Recon, but my system seems to be a little weak in the knees when it comes to that. Low details everything and it's still running at approximately 25 frames per second. There is no FPS metre in the game diagnostics, not that I've found, but I think it's pretty common for people to develop a trained eye for FPS when it's anywhere from 5 fps to 35 fps.

I'll be getting Dungeon Siege soon enough, hopefully that won't pull me away from NeverWinter Nights, when that's released in May. Then again, maybe NwN will be too much of an epic for me and I'd prefer the hack'n'slash fun of Dungeon Siege. Who knows, yet. I know I don't know. BioWare is a talented team and I'm sure they'll deliver the goods when it comes to NwN.

I haven't updated in the passed few days, mostly because nothing interesting has happened lately. I'm house sitting for my grandparents this week, so I'll be without an internet connection. Good thing is, though, that I'm bringing my computer with me, and with no interruptions (that cursed IRC) I'll be able to get some work done for a change. Ugh, yech and all those aweful reching sounds. MSN, ICQ and AIM are just as bad. I won't miss not having those, all too much.

I felt strangely compelled to write here. It's almost 3am and I'm still awake. Too bad this has been my regular bed time :( I need to get to bed on time or something. Like, on time on time.

NetHack, the grandpappy of rogue-like dungeon games, has consumed me. That, and I've started playing Diablo 2 Lord of Destruction again. T'is fun when you know the people you're playing with. HINT HINT >_< Jiro start playing again or I'll pawn it off for some cash so I can buy the next greatest Nintendo GameCube game.

Uh... Oh yeah! I did get to 3D Studio Max today ^_^ It took me a whole hour and a half but I made a dresser. Wouldn't my Mom be proud. Although I did tell her I'd make the robot tonight. I just figured the robot wasn't my thing, I'd do somthing on my own, something original if I wanted to make a robot. I think that's my exciting day. When I wake up today I guess I'll do some math crap, then more game/modelling stuff. Oh yeah, I also got a letter from a friend in Georgia, Heidi, today. G'night all.

So I'm out of IRC for a week. ETG didn't even warn me. Oh well, guess that leaves me more time to do my math work and less distractions. Unless I'm distracted by my newly acquired 3D Studio Max. I could try to cycle my IP (unplug myself from broadband connection) but that could take anywhere from a day to two or three. I doubt it would work overnight, but seeing how I wake up in the afternoon, it just might have been cycled by then. Good idea, Ari. So now I'm going to watch TV -- or something.

Weekend Synopsis

Heh, technical name More like: This is what happened on my weekend. Anyway, this is what happened on my weekend. Thursday I went to the theatre and saw Resident Evil. That movie is the best game-movie conversion I've ever seen. It was so beautiful I nearly had tears in my eyes at times. Who cares about the the CGI (computer generated imagery), all we want to see are corny zombies chomping on people. However, it did look great. The genetic mutants were... well, kinda dumb. They shouldn't have been included and should have instead been substituted by a different type of virus that mutates upon contact -- I won't give away the movie now.
Friday: It was a good day Friday. I went skiing with my sister and her boyfriend. It's a great thing that I live so close to one of BC's best ski hills. My second time skiing, ever, and I kicked ass. Summit hill, I own you.
Friday night, we all got pizza and rented movies. Training Day rawks. Artificial Intelligence rawks. Evolution is ok. Saturday I woke up and came home, sat around doing geek stuff. I'm 8 trophies away from having every trophy in Super Smash Brothers Melee and it's getting irritating getting every last one. So I've been doing that for a while. Sunday, I sat around home all day while my Dad was at some banquet. Today... today's today. Who knows what I'll be doing today.

Oh yeah, after the movie I went to my grandparent's place. My Grandma almost killed me with kindness, not like that's out of the ordinary. I don't think I can eat for a week now, either, she kept feeding me stuff. I was supposed to head over to my sister's place but they've been taking their sweet time getting home. Resident Evil was on at 4:30pm, I got to my Grandma's around 6:15pm. There I sat waiting for my sister to call until 10pm where I drove to her place and sat outside waiting for them to come home (waited 30 minutes). I then drove 20 minutes home only to find out that her boyfriend called and said they'd be home any time and still want me over to play GameCube tonight. PS I'll pay for your gas. So, cool, I call them back and I'm still waiting for them to get home and call me back and tell me to get my ass over there. I'm bored, and as you can see, I'm typing in my BLOG before midnight.

I had an awesome dream this morning just as I was waking up. I dreamt that I was a Canadian soldier in a Canadian infantry unit kicking some serious Nazi ass in the "hold the bridge/town" level of Day of Defeat 2 point Oh. I got in shit because I fell asleep when I was supposed to direct my attention to some spoiled-boy seargant of some sort. So I quickly polished my boots and jumped back into battle, but this time as Spiderman!!!
Well, there were three spiderman's. I was probably moreso the Ben Reilly of Spidermans. The clone, or something. The other spiderman was Spiderman 2000, I believe, or whatever the "future" spiderman is from the comics. That strays from the real path of Parker's life, so I don't even consider it. And the third Spidey was the man himself. Peter Parker. We swung/crawled through the level webbing up Nazis and generally making a good time of dodgine bullets. There is no better feeling than swinging through a city, or crawling around buildings. Well, perhaps having the super-hero ability to fly. Or, even better, sexorizing while flying.

Well, Blog was down today when I needed it the most. No rant from me, I forget it already. It was about Dransik, again, anyway. Some cake-ass accused me of stealing his loot. I had walked passed his loot and stood next to the castle wall. I'm a green monk. A green wizard walks up to his loot, picks it up and makes off with it. If I were stealing, I'd have run off with the loot. So the dumbass comes up to me and demands I give him his money (19 gold coins from a kobold). I told him it wasn't me who took it. He went on and on how he saw that I had taken it because his corpse was still next to it and he hadn't clicked to respawn yet. He gave in, I didn't steal it. He sulked off but not before calling me a loser. I helped the sumbitch. I told him who to look for. Ass.

Happy Birthday to my youngest sister, Nykol. She's a whole 21 years old today.
What did I do today? I found my Tie Fighter CD today. I was thinking it was X-Wing VS Tie-Fighter but I was wrong. It's not as good as I remember it. Today I downloaded a (currently) free MMORPG. It's called El Kardian which plays kind of like Ragnarok Online but with 3D models, and the game seems a bit slower, though you do level up faster.
Um, I think that's it. I watched StarWars Ep4 for the first time ever, last night, and I watched Ep5 for the first time ever, today. Going to the theatre to see Resident Evil is on my list of things to do. The end.

Ah hell, I want to put this thing on my Memory card.

I read throught most of the comics I read through (10 comics) but I stopped after I had read through Penny-Arcade and all it's fun filled rants. I got so sidetracked after reading their news, I ended up reading two game reviews, I downloaded EditPlus (which I haven't used yet, though I probably should try). I then downloaded a movie (linked from P-A) of "Japangrish vs Bill Gates" in which Bill is asked questions by Japanese students and he tries to understand them as best he can. He also kicks some guys ass in Project Gotham Racing, head to head with a teenager.

That's my update, it's too late for much else.

I upgraded to WinXP yesterday morning, from WinME, for the second time in two months. Upon doing so, Trend's PC-Cillin (again, I'm too lazy to post links, so just google it) stopped working. I was only 10 days into my 30 day trial (if that). So I downloaded it again, figuring "What the hell, it'll install again, won't it?"
Well, the fscking program didn't install again. After numerous downloads/attempted reinstalls, it would always come up with "MSIV Error Copying Files" or some such thing. So I thought to myself "Hey, self, why not edit the registry and take the image out of there". So I tried, and I couldn't find anything doing with Trend or PC-Cillin. I haven't played Diablo 2 Lord of Destruction for the passed two months, and something clicked in my head {Your characters/accounts are deleted after 90 days of inactivity} so I reinstalled Diablo 2 and LoD (all 1.73 GB of it) just to play 20 seconds of each character. Well, I did do one Meph run with my lvl 83 Sorc, Matriarch SRC_WiLD, and I did the beginnings of a Bloody run with my Lvl 68 Assassin, Matriarch ASN_WiLD; both US West. Two accounts on US West, one on US East, secured for another 90 days.

I got Monster Rancher Advance this morning, I played it for almost an hour, maybe more. Anyway, in game time I played for a year and a half. My tablet word was "WaNG" spelled exactly like that, and I came out with Nessie the Loch Ness Monster. Oh, speaking of which, I'll have to ask my Scottish friend(s) if the Loch Ness Monster is supposed to look like a freaking blue/white seal with a long neck. Hrm, speaking of which, I want to get back to playing that. I'm ranked "B" thus you must Ph34r me. Now all I need is a GBA and a link cable and a certain game for my GameCube and I'll be technologically set.

Um, I started playing Final Fantasy 5 again (arguably the best FF of the series. And if you don't agree with me, that's because it's arguably the best and what you say doesn't matter to me). I played it once before but I lost my save file just as I was going to the second world (about 40 hours of play time lost). So I'm playing again, yeah.

Mila Jovavich is a goddess, The Fifth Element (still my favorite movie) is proof, and she'll kick some zombie ass come this weekend. Blade 2 is 10 days away. Ari, you reading this yet? Oh yeah (attention deficite disorder much?) This sytem will (or does?) really sucks. It's Korean only right now and it can stay that way. It's no substitute for the GameBoy Advance, especially since the GBA is so much cheaper and superior.

Go buy one now, if you're still undecided over a PS2 or X-Box. GCN is cheap and their a buttload of games being released next month and the rest of Quarter 2. The games I'm most interested in playing are Super Mokey Ball (though I still haven't rented or bought it), Legend of Zelda GC, Star Fox Adventures: Dinosaur Planet, Metroid Prime (November release) and Phantasy Star Online v2.0 ,which, according to this here at GameSpy, it should have been released yesterday. But the dumbass' must have typo'd it because I've found no confirmation that it's actually out.

So if you're itching to get a next generation console, get the good old Nintendo for 30% cheaper than the PS2 or X-Box and enjoy yourself loads of fun with Super Smash Brothers Melee (excellent party game) and Super Monkey Ball (another excellent party game).
